Brushing techniques – the most common means of teeth and gum cleaning is the use of the toothbrush (classic, electric or ultrasound).
Dental floss and mouth wash – these are other two teeth cleaning means, especially for the areas which are difficult to access and where the toothbrush cannot reach.
Sealing the splints and grooves on the teeth surface is a method recommended for children who already have permanent teeth (aged 6-15). The procedure is performed by means of a special material, by covering the dental splints on the molars and pre-molars, as they have the capacity to retain food residues. The purpose is to protect the dental tissue and to release fluoride, so that the process creates a barrier between the tooth and the cavity-producing factors.
Ultrasound scaling. Scale cleaning by means of the ultrasound is performed by separating and mobilizing the scale from the surface of the teeth with the help of a water flow which washes away the scale fragments, thus having a calming effect applied on the gums.
The professional brushing is performed in the dental office, after the scaling. Its purpose is to remove the bacterial plaque caused by food from the teeth. By means of this procedure some colorations due to red wine, coffee or smoking can also be corrected.
Air Flow is a dental irrigation technique based on sodium bicarbonate and water. This cleaning procedure helps remove in depth the bacterial plaque from the areas which are difficult to reach.
Fluoridation is the dental treatment by means of which the quantity of fluoride is improved for prophylaxis purposes. The fluoridation procedure is performed both in children and in adults, in order to protect from cavities. This procedure increases the tooth resistance against the cavity producing factors and can be performed both in the dental office and at home.
